Allison Song, HEYDAY girl

What made you want to start working at KNAPSACK?
When I first moved to Fort Collins last fall, I fell in love with HEYDAY – the brand, shop atmosphere, and aesthetic. I was lucky enough to do a pop up shop for my flower crowns and hair accessories and knew I wanted to spend more time there! Right about the time I got started at HEYDAY, Jen was preparing to open KNAPSACK and I was able to see it come to life from day one!
You’re an amazing florist & wedding coordinator, why and how did that begin?
I have always loved flowers and I feel like flowers have had a very significant impact on my life (my Korean name is Rose). After I graduated from Northeastern with a marketing degree, I took a gap year in South Korea to teach English and to do some soul searching. During a lot of my down time in between classes, I realized I was always on wedding blogs gushing over all the pretty and subtle details. As soon as I got back to Atlanta, I interned for three different wedding vendors and knew florals was going to be my focus. I also love being organized during times of chaos and knew that would be another skill I could share with my clients.
What does it mean to be a HEYDAY girl?
To me, being a HEYDAY girl means working hard, having fun, and expressing myself in a creative way. I think being part of the HEYDAY team comes with the responsibility of finding beauty in each and every product and bringing that beauty to life for each customer in a way that works for them – whether it’s a piece of clothing or a new piece for their home.
Describe your perfect day in Fort Collins.
My perfect day would begin with a nice big cup of coffee and breakfast at home with my husband. We would go across the street to the park with our two dogs and play with them for awhile there. I would then love to walk around Old Town and do some window shopping and do some reading at a local cafe like Bean Cycle. And then end the day with some tacos and drinks with friends!
What do you enjoy most about working at KNAPSACK?
I absolutely love the products we work with and the team that we have. It has been so much fun learning about all the vendors and brands and the stories/purposes they have. And in the same way, I have been loving getting to know all the amazing women on our team – they are all so unique in their own ways but all share the same work hustle and great energy.
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
I would either love to hike in the many beautiful mountains of Colorado or explore the creative pockets of Denver.
What movie can you watch over and over without getting tired of?
Garden State or Amelie!
What is your favorite clothing item that you own?
As simple as it is, I am loving my white tee from Amuse Society!
What is one item in either HEYDAY or KNAPSACK that is calling your name?
Definitely one of the Fashionable leather bags from KNAPSACK! Not only are they super cute, the brand has an amazing purpose and story!
In any aspect of your life, where do you draw your inspiration from?
I love to draw inspiration from nature which I have been doing plenty of since moving to Colorado! I also love to get inspiration from the city so I love taking the time to explore Denver and experiencing all the diversity in its people and neighborhoods.
